Hope everyone enjoys their summer. Keep it classy in here.
Stay tuned for next season, and a big twist around here. Will it still be a blog or a new forum?
Boom!

I laughed, I cried, but at least we are one more season closer to the end. (OK I didn’t cry). I could go through my usual checklist of easy targets for this episode, of which the hit every one. You guys know what I’m talking about. I guess my main beef with the finale was that the whole show pretty much built up to Jacob being the God of the island, then we have one episode with him and they kill him off? I mean, he’s that powerful and he can’t dodge a knife? Made the whole endless flashback series with him pretty pointless. Ya, we get it, he met everyone, and he like a fresh red snapper.
I did enjoy the fight scene with Jack and Sawyer, although it kind of reminded me of the chicken fight scene in Family Guy. It went on a little too long.
The Juliet falling down the well was a total ripoff of the opening scene of Cliffhanger. I mean almost line for line. I guess a nuclear bomb can survive a 500 foot fall and not detonate, but an injured woman striking it with a stone sets it right off. My head is reeling, thats enough for now.
BOOM. Lost. Bad Robot.

Man, if ever there was a filler episode this was it. Basically just a setup for the season finale. Jungle treks, gun cocking, people getting beaten senseless only to have no facial swelling of any kind, etc. The CGI sub was a nice touch, gave the episode a late night sci-fi original feel to it. Lost is a big “hit”, can’t ABC get them a real sub shot? At least we only have one more show left then a niiice long break!

Big filler/snoozer as usual. In the first minute I think Faraday actually said, “its not important” and “there’s no time for that right now” in the same sentence. That has to be an all time record. If you weren’t keeping track there we 3 shoulder/neck shots. Good thing Faraday’s mom is the one person who can aim a gun on the island, even if it was to shoot her and Widmore’s jungle love child. Don’t worry though, I’m sure he is still alive in some other time period. It kind of kills the point of the dramatic death scene when everyone comes back.
One last thing, enough with the Star Trek already! Shatner must be rolling over in his Priceline suit.
BOOM.
Lost.

5,000 unresolved plot lines and we get an episode devoted to explaining why Miles has daddy issues? I used to actually not mind his character but not he is almost as whiny as Ben. I felt like I was watching a hybrid Ghost Wisperer and Dr. Phil episode. On the plus side, I didn’t see any gun cocking at all, but I did count at least 5 “that’s not important right nows”.
Also did anyone catch the Star Trek commercial? Wow. Nice to know the same techniques from Lost will now be applied to ruin the Star Trek franchise.

Ok, I missed the first half of tonight’s show. Can someone please explain how Locke is magically alive?
I did tune in long enough to see Ben’s pathetic attempt to kill penny, and shoot Desmond. Does a gunshot ever kill anyone on the show? What’s the point of even shooting someone? And then Indiana Jones temple scene. So the smoke monster now plays DVDs of your past. Great upgrade!. This is so far beyond jumping the shark now its even beyond laughing. I felt like I was watching land of the lost in the 70s. I actually had to face palm myself during that scene. Can someone, anyone just put Ben out of his and our misery? Wow.

I’m baaack. Today I suffered through not 1 but 2 episodes and am now caught up. That a lot of suckitude in one day. So tonight we got another Kate flashback episode complete with grocery store juice box drama. Then Kate goes to see two women who I really can’t even remember who they were. That’s the problem when you have a show that has probably a hundred characters; its just about impossible for the average viewer to remember them all without some giant flowchart or spreadsheet. Maybe I have blocked the trauma of 5 seasons of filler episodes with throwaway characters. Anyways.
Tonight I was impressed with Jack of all people. He actually grew a set of balls right for the first time! It was almost like in the Grinch when his heart grows 3 sizes, except Jack grew a pair of cajones to the delight of us all. Good choice. Screw Ben, that little bastard.

Damn. OK, I missed another one. I am NOT giving up on you guys. I am have 3 episodes in the Tivo bank to catch up on. I was planning on watching the 2 shows tonight, but had a chance to go out with some friends and had a great dinner and bottles of wine. So please discuss here and I will jump in when I catch up. I’m sure it sucked though. Maybe 9.2 on the suck on meter? Am I close?

So let me picture the writer’s meeting that led to this show. “OK, we are in the 5th of 6 seasons, we have over 50 characters all with loose ends we need to tie up. What should we do? Hey, how about we introduce some NEW characters!” “And let’s have those characters act just like all the other ones, you know, hide things from each other, don’t answer questions, hell, we can even get them to cock a gun!”
The whole Locke thing was pretty anticlimatic being that:
a) We already knew Locke would die.
b) We already knew Locke would live.
I guess my biggest problem with the whole episode is that it wasn’t even the first time. Ben already killed Locke! Furthermore, it didn’t work the first time. So now we have Ben killing Locke again, and once again it didn’t work. What’s the point? Ah screw it!
