And I will reiterate that the US was not the sole victor in WWII, and the Candadians were at Normandy along with a couple other allies lest we forget. Yes, we gave a needed push, but had we not intervened, Hitler would have overrun all of Europe. Russian wins were key, but having them keep fighting win or lose distracted the Germans just enough to win it for the Allies. Now I always take eyewitness testimony with several grains of salt, but I've never been able to understand how a number of people could have mistaken a passenger jet for a small plane. With what was going on that day, you'd think they would be prone to exaggerate if anything, and call it a jumbo jet. That bothers me.
